Manila Street Astronomers began its series of free telescope viewing events in the south, at Las Piñas City. Eventually it extended out to the North with several large event areas such as Blue Bay Walk, UP Town Center, Star City, HSBC, TriNoma, SM City North EDSA and SM City East Ortigas, etc. In the South our large setups have been at SM Southmall, SM Dasma, SM Molino, Alabang Town Center, etc.
This November 2017 the MSA Core Group added three new names in their line-up: Abdur Rahman Alindao, Coleen Santos and Pablo Jun Cajigal. This step was made to help organize the growing North and South groups. Abdur will be overseeing the South events in Gary Andreassen's place (who will be away for the time being), and will be partnered by Jun. Norman Marigza will oversee the North events in partnership with Coleen. Kristine Atienza will be handling all communications with the mall setups. The rest of the core group, Anthony Urbano and Christopher Lu, will be assisting in all of the tasks.
Although there will be changes and adjustments with respect to the core group they will all keep the objectives of MSA and do their best to promote astronomy for all. We continue to thank all those who support this community of outreach astronomers that is the MSA. The cast & crew and the core group will continue to grow and try to extend its reach.
